Framework

Meta Muse vs Framework's Decision Agent: which personal agent for business decisions?

Meta Muse is a general personal agent that books, buys, and fills forms. Framework's Decision Agent is narrow: it runs strategy frameworks on one decision and hands back a brief. The honest head-to-head.

The honest pickUse Muse to get things done — email, bookings, forms, purchases, business apps. Use Framework's Decision Agent when the hard part is deciding: it runs 2–3 strategy frameworks on the question and returns a decision brief with a 30/60/90-day plan. Decide in Framework, then let Muse execute.

Meta's Muse made "personal agent" a mainstream product category in September 2026: tell it what you need, close the app, and it works in the background — reading email, booking travel, filling in forms, paying bills. Framework's Decision Agent borrows the same "delegate it and walk away" shape but applies it to a much narrower job: making one business decision well. This is the honest comparison of when each one wins.

What Muse is best for

Muse is the better tool whenever the work is execution:

  • Life admin on autopilot. Inbox triage, travel and appointment booking, forms, bills — the jobs Meta built Muse around.
  • Buying things. Muse can complete purchases (through Link by Stripe) and stops for your approval before it spends.
  • Running a small business's busywork. Since September 29, Muse for Small Business connects to tools like Shopify, Stripe, QuickBooks, Notion and Slack, plus Instagram and Facebook Pages.
  • Living where you already chat. Muse is reachable through WhatsApp as well as its own apps.

What Muse doesn't offer: a library of strategy frameworks or a structured decision brief. It's a generalist that does tasks, not a method for deciding.

What Framework's Decision Agent is best for

The Decision Agent is the better tool when the hard part is the decision itself:

  • A method, not an opinion. It picks frameworks that fit the question — SWOT, Pre-mortem, Regret Minimization, Porter's Five Forces and 100+ others — and tells you why it chose each before running anything.
  • Reasoning you can check. Each framework becomes a real canvas you can open and edit, so a co-founder or investor can see how the recommendation was reached.
  • A brief you can act on. The output is a one-page decision brief: the sharpened decision, an issue tree, scored options, a recommendation with supports and risks, and a 30/60/90-day plan.
  • Hands-off, with one checkpoint. You approve the plan once; it runs in the background and emails you when it's done.
  • Not US-only. Works anywhere on the web, iPhone and iPad.

What the Decision Agent doesn't do: it won't book, buy, send or file anything for you. It stops at the decision.

The honest pick

Use Muse when the task is getting something done. Use Framework's Decision Agent when the task is deciding what to do. The strongest workflow chains them: decide in Framework, then let Muse execute the plan.

Concretely:

  • "Book the flights and send the invites for our offsite" → Muse.
  • "Should we raise prices 10% this quarter?" → Framework's Decision Agent.
  • "Do the 30-day tasks from that pricing brief" → Muse, working from the brief Framework produced (export it to Notion, which Muse for Small Business connects to).

A capable general agent will happily give you an answer to a strategic question. The difference is whether you can see the reasoning, challenge it, and reuse it. That's the gap a framework-based agent is built to fill.

Frequently asked questions

Can't Muse just make the decision for me?

Muse can certainly talk a decision through with you — it is built on a capable model. What it doesn't advertise is a strategy-framework workflow: a library of named frameworks, each filled into its own structure, chained into a brief you can export and come back to. Framework's Decision Agent is built only for that. If you want a quick opinion, asking any capable agent is fine. If you want the reasoning laid out in a SWOT, a pre-mortem and a scored options table that a co-founder or investor can check, that's the Decision Agent's job.

Is Framework's Decision Agent available outside the US?

Yes. Framework runs on the web and on iPhone and iPad with no country restriction, in English, Japanese and Traditional Chinese. At launch, Muse is US-only and limited to adults 18 and over, with other countries undated.

How much does each cost?

Muse has a free tier plus two paid tiers, Power at $20/month and Maximum at $100/month (as reported at launch; usage allowances differ by source), and asks for a payment card even on the free tier. Framework's Decision Agent is included in Ultra at $14.99/month. A run uses about 9–11 AI credits and Ultra includes 200 a month, so roughly 18–20 delegated decisions a month.

Can I use Muse and Framework together?

Yes, and it's the workflow we'd suggest. Run the decision in Framework, export the brief to Notion, then hand the 30/60/90-day tasks to Muse to execute — Muse for Small Business lists Notion among its connectors. Framework decides; Muse acts.

What does Framework's Decision Agent actually do step by step?

You write the decision in one sentence. The agent proposes 2–3 frameworks with a one-line reason for each and an estimated credit cost; you untick any you don't want and approve. It then drafts each framework canvas, pulls the takeaway from each, sharpens the real decision behind your question, breaks it into an issue tree, scores the options, writes a recommendation with supports and risks, and plans the next 30/60/90 days. You can close the tab; you get an email when the brief is ready, and the canvases and brief also appear in your library on iPhone and iPad.
