Welcome to the FrameworkList blog
Why we are starting a blog about thinking frameworks, and what to expect.
This is the first post on the FrameworkList blog. Over the next few months we will be writing about how to actually use the 100+ thinking frameworks in the catalog — not just what they are.
What we will write about
Three flavors of posts:
- Field reports — how a specific team used a specific framework, what worked, what did not.
- Comparisons — when to reach for SWOT vs. PESTLE, OKRs vs. KPIs, RICE vs. ICE.
- Anti-patterns — the ways frameworks quietly mislead, and how to notice.
We are aiming for one post per week, written by King Mark. If a topic interests you, the Academy is where the deeper teaching pieces live; the blog is for opinions and field notes.
What you can do today
Open the framework library and pick one you have not used in a while. Try it on the most ambiguous decision currently on your desk. We would love to hear what happened — reply to the welcome email or drop us a line.
Want the catalog on your phone? Framework for iPhone & iPad ships 100+ strategy and decision frameworks with AI-assisted prompts. Free to start.
Where to start
One of each flavor, so you can see what we mean:
- Field report — Netflix's 2007 SWOT, reconstructed: an analysis that ended in a multi-billion-dollar capital allocation rather than a filed page
- Comparison — RICE vs ICE, OKRs vs KPIs, SWOT vs PESTLE
- Anti-pattern — Why most frameworks fail, and how to pick one in the first place
If you'd rather start from a decision than a framework, the Decision Center chains two or three of them into one founder-grade call.
